Privacy Policy

Mihira collects no personal information about you. Everything it calculates stays on your iPhone.

Mihira is a panchang app for iPhone, published by Mihira LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India (“we”, “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information in connection with the Mihira iPhone app (the “App”) and this website (the “Site”; together, the “Service”).

Notice to users in the U.S. states, Europe and India: see the sections near the end of this policy for information about your rights under the laws that apply to you.

Personal information we collect

Through the App: none. Mihira has no account, no server and no sign-in. Your city, your settings, saved family dates and reminders are stored only on your iPhone, and the App does not send them to us or to anyone else.

Information you provide to us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply.

Automatic data collection on the Site. Like any website, the servers that deliver this Site receive standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Our hosting provider uses it to deliver and secure the Site. We do not use it to identify you, build a profile or advertise to you.

Device permissions

Location. If you allow it, the App uses your location once, on your iPhone, to suggest nearby cities from a list built into the App. Your location is not stored or sent anywhere. You can pick a city without sharing your location, and you can turn location access off at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.

Calendar. When you add a time to your calendar, the App opens the iOS calendar editor and you save the event yourself.

Notifications. Reminders are scheduled as notifications on your iPhone. They are not sent through our servers.

Tracking and other technologies

The App contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code. The Site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them. See our Cookie Notice.

How we use personal information

We use the limited information described above only to deliver and secure the Site, to reply to messages you send us, and to comply with the law. We do not use personal information for marketing, interest-based advertising, profiling, automated decision-making or training AI models.

Retention

We keep emails you send us for as long as needed to answer them and to keep a record of the conversation, and then delete them. Data stored by the App stays on your iPhone until you delete it or delete the App.

How we share personal information

We do not sell, rent or share personal information. Apart from our hosting and email providers acting on our behalf, we disclose personal information only if the law requires it.

When you download Mihira, Apple processes data under its own privacy policy. We receive only the aggregated, anonymous statistics Apple provides to all developers.

Your choices

You can turn off location, calendar and notification access for Mihira at any time in your iPhone’s Settings. Deleting the App deletes everything it stored. Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals; because the Site does no tracking, there is nothing for such a signal to change.

Other sites and services

The Service may link to websites and services operated by others, such as the App Store. We do not control them and are not responsible for their practices. Please read their privacy policies.

Security

Keeping your data on your iPhone is our main safeguard: there is no copy of it on our side to lose. The Site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International data transfer

We are based in India and our providers may operate in other countries. If you email us, your message may be processed outside your country, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Children

The Service does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

If a future version of Mihira handles data differently, for example by adding optional sync, we will update this policy and its date before that version is released. Material changes will be noted on this page.

How to contact us

For questions about this policy or to exercise any privacy right, contact us at support@mihira.app.

State privacy rights notice (United States)

Residents of some U.S. states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and Nevada, have rights under state privacy laws to know what personal information is collected about them, and to access, correct and delete it, and to appeal a decision about such a request. You can exercise these rights by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

We do not sell or share personal information, do not process it for targeted advertising, do not use it for profiling or automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects, and do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information. We have no actual knowledge of collecting, selling or sharing personal information of consumers under 16. During the past 12 months the only personal information we have collected is the contact and message details of people who emailed us, used to reply.

Notice to European users

This section applies to individuals in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. “Personal information” in this policy includes “personal data” as defined in the GDPR and UK GDPR.

Controller. Mihira LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India is the controller of the limited personal information described in this policy.

Legal bases. We process request data on the Site based on our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the Site, and emails you send us based on our legitimate interest in answering them.

Your rights. You may ask us to give you access to, correct, delete, transfer or restrict the processing of personal information we hold about you, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the data protection regulator where you live. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Transfers. We are located in India. Where personal information is transferred from Europe to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses, or on the transfer being necessary to reply to a message you sent us.

No automated decision-making. We do not make decisions about you by automated means.

Users in India

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, its correction or erasure, and you may raise a grievance with us.
